Weekend update

I did a few more scrapbook pages this weekend for my class. I'm going to be sad when it's over, I really look forward to each Thursday to see what the next assignment is. I don't know if they'll be offering the class again but for anyone considering it, it is so worth it!

I'm even getting some of my older photos into scrapbooks. These are from '91 & '92...

We're on the Christmas decorating committee at church so that's what we did tonight. There are two other couples also on the committee. After decorating we go out for bar baskets. I had the usual burger, fries and a couple beers. Good stuff!

My mom and my sister and I went to the Neil Diamond concert Saturday night. It was pretty awesome! And we went out for supper at my favorite restaurant before the show. A very fun night!

I made this yummy hotdish today. It has rice, chicken, celery and hard-boiled eggs in it and corn flakes on top.

Jake turned up his nose at it and said he wasn't going to eat it (even though he's had it a dozen times before... and liked it.) So he made himself his own supper...

Then he took it to his "fort" to eat it in front of the TV.

Creative day

We had a good turn out for Stamp Camp this morning. It was fun...they always are! When I got home the boys were gone hunting so I took advantage of the alone time by scrapbooking.

These layouts were based on sketches from the class I'm taking at Big Picture Scrapbooking. Lately we've been doing a lot of 8 1/2 x 11 page layouts which I'm really liking. I'm used to doing strictly 12x12 but am enjoying the freedom to change things up a bit.

An update on the Biggest Loser challenge: It's been 4 weeks and I've lost a whopping 1/2 pound. BUT I've been doing my workout video plus 30 minutes on the elliptical, consistently, 6 days a week, and I feel STRONG! So much for her "Lose up to 20 pounds in 30 days" claim though. I'm up to level 2 and man, I'm scared to see level 3. It's challenging to say the least. I'm glad it's only 20 minutes. During the workout she says, "I want you to feel like you're going to die." Well, I do.

Ice and snow!

This was the view out my windshield on the way home from work tonight.

Not as bad as some places, but bad enough...very icy. Notice how dark it looks already. It was only 5pm. I don't like the time change! Especially with really messes up their schedule. Jake gets up at 6am now instead of 7:00. It's very nice, especially on the weekend. Not like I get to sleep in anyway...I'm either heading to work at the vet clinic or to Sunday School.

Some exciting news - we're flying to Vegas the day after Thanksgiving! It was a spur of the moment decision thanks to my brother-in-law. We're going with him and my sister. I've been there several (7) times but I love it! Can't wait!

Plan B

So I'm moving on to plan B as far as my Biggest Loser challenge is going. I have two problems - 1) I like to eat, and 2) I don't like to be hungry. I have been working out on my elliptical faithfully for 30 minutes a day...which seems to be allowing me to eat what I want and maintain my current weight. Plan B, which I started today, includes my 20 minute video and then 20-30 minutes on the elliptical. I know you're supposed to exercise AND eat right to lose weight but I'd rather just eat what I want, in moderation, and then, literally, work my butt off in exchange. We'll see how this goes.

Jake was a Ninja for Halloween yesterday. We only went Trick-or-Treating to a few places...grandparents and 1 teacher. My sisters met us at my mom's so that worked out perfect.

I made 4 apple pies today.

Three of them went into the freezer and 1 went in the oven.

I'm thinking about going to GF tomorrow to buy a new printer. The scrapbook class I'm taking requires one and the printer we have just isn't cutting it anymore. I also really need an external hard drive. I actually need that more than a printer. Hopefully I can fit both into my budget!
