Rosted Marshmallows

A few nights ago we made a fire and roasted some marshmallows. We don't have very good firewood so our fire was a little pathetic.

It still worked for roasting marshmallows though, I swear I could eat a whole bag of them, they're one of my favorite things to eat.

We picked up some good firewood from Grandma and Grandpa's yesterday so our next fire should be much more impressive. We'll probably even be able to roast hotdogs on it!

I finished day 2, week 3 of the C25K program tonight! I'm going shopping for official running shoes this weekend!

Yellow Living Room

Here are some photos of my painting project from last weekend. I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

The colors look a little different because I took one during the day and one at night. I'd like to replace the black pillows on the couch with red ones.

This black bookshelf used to be in the living room and we moved it into the kitchen to hold my cookbooks.

My next rainy weekend project will be to paint the bedroom. I'm still debating on painting the kitchen turquoise with orange accents as well.

Wekend Project

I'm taking on a big project this weekend. All of this rainy weather must be getting to me, it's making me want to brighten things up, add some color to my life. I'm painting our living room and hallway (yellow), kitchen and dining room (turquoise & orange) and bedroom (grey). I'm tackling the living room and hallway first, that's probably all I'll get done this weekend.

I started something this week that I never, ever thought I'd do, EVER. I started the Couch to 5K program. The plan is to alternate running and walking for 8 weeks and by the last workout on week 9 you should be able to run for 30 minutes or 3 miles. Right now I have a hard time believing that will ever happen as running for 60 seconds is still hard for me. I'm proud of myself for making it through week 1 and intend to stick with it through the end.

Jake and I went for a bike ride last weekend. I hadn't had mine out yet and it was quite dusty so Jake cleaned it off for me when we got back home. I'm looking forward to more sunny days next week!

Bird Hunter

Jake has been helping to control the barn swallow population around here lately. He quietly sits in the barn with his BB gun and waits for them to land on the rafters.

He was very excited to have gotten 2 of them today!

These two aren't entirely out of work, they still do a good job of keeping the mouse population under control!

New Craft Space

I recently moved my crafting space upstairs into our office. We all have laptops so really don't have the need for a dedicated office space anymore. I had a larger crafting space downstairs but it was the only room in our basement that was finished and I didn't like being down there by myself, which surprised me. Since we are working on finishing the rest of our basement I may move back down there once that's done...we'll see.

One thing that will be moving downstairs when it's finished are the deer heads, but for now they must remain.
