Hudson Pant

Our weekend weather was a bit crazy, 87 degrees on Saturday and 50 degrees on Sunday. I didn't mind the cool rainy weather though because I knew I would be in my sewing room most of the day!

I finished my Hudson Pants first and am so glad I did because I wore them the rest of the day, they are so comfortable.

I made them with this medium weight black cotton spandex from Girl Charlee and it is perfection, so soft and stretchy!

I did an online search for black 1/4" cording and when it arrived it was more of a shiny decorative trim. I did another search for black 1/4" drawstring and found what I was looking for. It will be easy to switch that out once it arrives.

I love these pants and plan on making another pair, I'm thinking olive green with grey accents for the next pair.

Selfish Sewing Week Projects - Fall 2014

I have four projects planned for Selfish Sewing Week. I didn't know that was a thing until recently but I'm totally on board! I ordered some fabric last week and it arrived today, it's in the washing machine as I type. I'm pretty sure my "week" is going to extend into several weeks though.

I ordered my fabric online from Girl Charlee. It can be tricky to tell how it's going to look when you can't feel it in person but I am so happy with all of it!

Here is what I am going to make:
1. Scoop neck t-shirt, 3/4 sleeve - Craftsy Sewing with Knits (This was an excellent class, I've already made 2 of these t-shirts and love them!)

2.  Scoop neck t-shirt, short sleeve - Craftsy Sewing with Knits (It's nice to have a basic white t-shirt, this fabric is a slub knit so it has a bit of texture.)

3. Hudson Pant - I've seen similar track pants on many fashion blogs this fall.

4. & 5. The Lane Raglan - I will use the grey fabric to construct the main parts of the shirt and use the olive lace as an overlay on the front. I'm excited to see how this one turns out!

I'll be posting photos of the finished products so be sure to check back!
